It’s that time of year again when college students are taking finals and getting rid of those unwanted paper weights. Before you sell your books take the time to think about a few things.
1. Will this book be of use to me in the future?
a. Often students who are becoming teachers will find that the few dollars you get from reselling your books are not worth it. Instead these books can be a good start to your own personal library which you can use as a teacher.
2. How much is the bookstore paying for my book(s)?
a. Sometimes you can post free ads on bulletin boards in the college. This can lead to more cash in your pocket.
3. What classes are my friends taking next semester?
a. Perhaps you can strike a deal with a friend who needs to take the class you just finished.
4. Social networks
a. Use Facebook, Myspace, and other social sites to let your peeps know that you are selling books. You never know who might be taking that same class next.
5. Have you checked internet sites for the best price?
a. Often internet sites will offer more for your books than your college bookstore. Try using Google searches including the isbn of your textbook(s).
6. If you can't get more than a few dollars for a book(s) and you want to help others, you can always donate your books.
a. There are many deserving students who have less money than you and would love a free textbook.
Happy Savings!
